When a child goes missing

A child goes missing in the UK every five minutes, and it is quite possible that these figures are under-reported. I find it painful to think about just how desperate you must be to want to leave home in this way, or to be a parent/guardian in this situation. Many will have gone missing over Christmas.

Today a Facebook friend shared a picture of a missing girl, who was similar in age to my own daughter and it brought it home to me….

Every parent’s worst nightmare, and my heart goes out to all involved.

The following link has more information.

  1. I’ve blogged about this too, it’s good to see so many mumsnetters helping to raise the profile of this, it’s especially horrid when you think about how many aren’t even reported.
